Happy Easter 2016!!

Sightseeing

Good morning my dear readers and Happy Easter!

I just wanted to quickly wish you a happy day even if you don’t celebrate Easter! I hope that either your Easter Sunday or just normal Sunday will be full of joy and happiness whatever you do!

Easter is quite a big family celebration in my native country. This year I’m not going home to celebrate it, so I’m stuck alone in my room on campus. But I can’t say that I mind that very much..:)

In Lithuania, we have a tradition to color eggs for Easter and we call them ‘marguciai’ (translated as colorful Easter Eggs). So, even though I now live in a different country/time zone/continent(almost), I decided to continue this tradition.

First of all, let me present you the Easter Egg with ‘Easter Eggs‘ (aka references) on top of it. I hand-painted (my skills are rubbish, but I think it turned out nice) various symbols of nerdiness. From the top left corner we have my blog symbol, Wonder Woman’s symbol, Black Widow’s symbol, The Avengers A, Batman v Superman logo, Daredevil’s double D logo, Deadpool’s symbol, Captain America’s shield, the nerdfighteria’s acronym DFTBA, and the Star Trek logo. I really wanted to include references to Harry Potter, Lord of The Rings, Star Wars and Game of Thrones, but I either ran out of space or just couldn’t come up with a simple enough symbol or logo.

Next, I did a United Nation/Countries/Flags Easter Egg. This one was partly inspired by a globe-like Easter Egg that I made last year.

The countries that I managed to include were: Lithuania (my native country), Scotland (my current home), United Kingdom, United States of America, France, Germany, Italy, Belgium, Spain, The Netherlands, Greece, Brazil, South Korea, South Africa, Japan, India, and Denmark. That’s basically all the countries that I would like to visit (and whose flags are quite easy to draw/paint).

I also coloured two other eggs. I just put some zigzag lines and dots on one of them and rolled the other one in nail polish. They turned out okay.

Once again, have a Happy Easter if you celebrate it, while I am going back to bed to eat chocolate eggs and other sweets!

Easter 2014 post – here.

Fashion : Autumn #OOTD

Beauty&Fashion

Hello!

Can you believe that it is almost the end of September? I am still living in the summer, but this morning the weather in Lithuania truly showed that it was autumn. So, I decided to share with you one of my outfits for autumn. It simple, comfortable but still stylish. It has edgy, sporty and masculine vibe with a touch of femininity.

Let’s start with the clothes:

Skinny black jeans from a local boutique

Dark purple vest top from NewYorker

Khaki color over-sized shirt – I used to hate khaki color, I had a khaki coat when I was younger and I would fall into a dark mood every time I put it on, but I really love this shirt – found it this weekend at a thrift store – it cost me 1 Euro – absolute bargain. I can wear it loose, tucked into pants or a skirt or even tied into a knot at my waist.

Shoes – classic low top Converse all stars in white.

Hair – in the first photo my hair are simply put to one side, but after that I put them into ponytail – it goes better with the look.

Accessories : Chunky silver necklace from NewYorker

H&M silver rings in different width. H&M shop does best rings ever.

My bag is really old, it has two smaller straps and one long strap, some metallic studs outlining the shape. Color – dark brown (real leather).

Nails: I painted my nails with Rimmel London sparkly pink polish to add femininity and some color to this masculine and quite dark outfit. I am not particularly happy with this nail polish, it last only a couple of days. It might be because it is quote old. The color khaki is really neutral , so pink goes perfectly with it.

So, I hope you liked these short style post. The statement piece of the look is khaki shirt, which I found at the thrift store – you don’t need to spend a lot of money to look great. Most importantly, dress yourself in the way that makes you feel good! Have a great week and don’t let autumn clouds darken your mood!

Collection: Nail polishes

Beauty&Fashion

Hello everybody!

It is a beautiful Sunday morning were I live and for this week’s beauty post I decided to share with you my nail polish collection that I have collected over a couple of years time. By any means, I am not trying to show off, just trying to help you find colors or textures you might be looking for, or some new brands to try out. Most of my nail polishes are from Lithuanian brand BUK, but my favorite company is MAYBELLINE and they COLORAMA line. I store all my nail polishes in a little box which is always standing on my computer/work table.  My computer table is my dressing/vanity/makeup table at the same time because it is huge. Multi-table-ing. 😀

List of nail polishes (you will find the photos of the bottles and samples of colors in the gallery):

I did not take separate pictures or included my top coat in this list but it is from Nail system CARE line. I usually do my nail art with the help of a toothpick but I also have some art deco nail polishes with a special narrow brush. They are a great measure to paint small intricate details on the nails.

I hope you liked this post, see you next week!

Easter + decorations and DIY ideas!!

Uncategorized

Good afternoon everybody!

First and foremost I would like to congratulate all of you on this beautiful occasion – Easter. No matter whether you are religious or not, this is a beautiful, spring-time family celebration. I hope that all of you have an awesome day and the pleasant rest of spring 🙂
The weather in Lithuania is amazing. It’s like 20C or 68F outside, the sky is clear with a few puffy white clouds. However, the wind is pretty strong, but it is not that cold.
I spent my Easter at my aunt’s house. All of my nearest and dearest family members came here; we shared a nice Sunday lunch, exchanged small gifts and had some quality time with each other. I was so excited to see my little cousin – he is almost 5 months old and just too cute.
My aunt got me this really lovely gift from Easter Bunny (This is tradition in our family). I got CACHET dark chocolate bar with lemon and black pepper flavoring. I love milk chocolate, but sometimes I like to snack on something stronger, that has a rich and interesting taste. Lemon and black pepper in my opinion – is a great, kind of spicy combination that compliments dark chocolate so well. She also got me two of Manhattan Lotus Effect long-lasting nail polishes in this cute purple box with a bow tie that has polka dots on it. One of the polishes is this grey-ish/blue-ish color that has some dark undertones. I think it is going to look amazing with more metallic, dark outfits. Another color is really spring like – light pink with a slight touch of cream. The grey one is 33G, and pink one – 55K.
Bellow I also added couple of photos from our Easter table, a picture of a home decoration and a DIY collage on how to color eggs while using onion shells. All of the eggs are different, unique and most importantly – natural, because they are made while using organic products – onions – and just a tiny pinch of chemical egg paint. Enjoy 🙂
